Mollie Wolfe

Artist 2018 -

Mollie Wolf is a Colorado-born mountain woman currently living in Los Angeles. She is known for her distinctive movement vocabulary that draws upon and fuses many floorwork and release-based techniques from post-modern and hip hop lineages. Wolf’s goal as a teacher is to unlock the inner artist within each of her students and to develop students’ ability to be captivated by their own improvisational exploration. Her classes focus on kinesthetic awareness and momentum, drawing upon somatic practices and concepts while at the same time challenging artists to be specific in the way that they direct, carry and follow their bodies in motion. Her recent teaching credits include Diavolo Architecture in Motion; Ormao Dance Company; Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre; Movement Lifestyle; Brockus Project Studios; Block 1750; The Dance Arts Theater of Utah; Pikes Peak Community College; and CalState LA. Wolf is currently a faculty member at Renaissance Arts Academy and organizes professional-level floorwork classes in LA under the name Ground Grooves. In addition to teaching, Wolf works as a freelance choreographer and has been commissioned to make work for dance companies and colleges throughout Colorado and California. She graduated Summa cum Laude from the University of Colorado with a BFA in Dance and a minor in Ethnic Studies. Wolf is a shaker and a mover, and enjoys the small things in life—she runs, writes, and bakes a mean vegan cake.
